R.M.T. Ario Soerjo was the first governor of East Java and a key figure in Indonesia’s early independence movement. This 3D animated biography tells his life story, from childhood to his role in the Battle of Surabaya.
We worked closely with Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Jawa Timur to ensure the story remained true to historical events. The animation introduces Ario Soerjo as a curious young boy, then follows his journey into leadership during a critical time in history.
Our team developed unique character designs that reflect his age, clothing, and posture as he matures. We designed environments inspired by the era, using textures and lighting to match the tone of each life stage.
To support the story visually, we used a color palette that evolves with his character, warmer tones in youth and deeper tones in adulthood. The animation is leaning to realism to keep it both informative and relatable to the real world.
From script to final render, we handled the full animation pipeline. Our process included storyboarding, modeling, layout, animation, lighting, and rendering. This 3D animated biography helps preserve Ario Soerjo’s legacy and introduces his story to a new generation. It transforms a key historical narrative into a memorable visual experience.
