“Banyu: The Story of a Raindrop” marks the first 2D short animation we completed at Losmunos. Back then, we were a group of classmates—animators and illustrators—who eagerly joined competitions, even if we rarely finished our entries. In 2018, we created Banyu for the We Art Water Film Festival 4 in Barcelona, Spain. We didn’t win, but earning second place gave us a huge sense of pride.

Banyu is a 2D short animation that follows the journey of a raindrop falling into a clean, thriving river. We named him Banyu, which means “water” in Javanese. At first, he’s thrilled to explore the clear waters, swimming with fish and animals. But as he drifts closer to human civilization, the environment starts to change — and so does his experience.
“Banyu: The Story of a Raindrop” isn’t just our first 2D animation short — it shows our passion for storytelling, environmental awareness, and visual artistry. We started it as a student project and turned it into an international finalist. This project helped shape Losmunos Studio into what it is today. If you’re looking for heartfelt animated storytelling or a creative partner for your next animation project, reach out to Losmunos — we bring meaningful stories to life.
